Springwater Welsh Ponies was born out of a passion for the Welsh Pony (Section B's) for the majestic stallions, regal mares, and beautifully-bred foals.
The Welsh Pony is the breed for the family, and excels in all equine disciplines. From time-to-time, we’re pleased to offer our Stallions as studs. You can also see how our Mares have bred, and occasionally we have Foals for sale.

About the breed
A little bit of history
The Welsh Pony is a small breed of horse. At maturity, it won't exceed 137.2cm in height. A hardy breed, the Section B Pony was the main means of transport for shepherds and hill farmers.
As a popular choice of children's riding pony, the Welsh Pony has great attributes of the Welsh Mountain Pony, with emphasis placed on riding pony qualities. It still retains an excellent temperament and has Welsh Type quality and substance. Welsh Ponies have natural jumping ability and can hold their own amongst the top class riding ponies, both in performance competitions and in the show ring.

“If you’re here, you probably love horses and riding as much as I do — I’m glad you found me! I’ve been in the equine industry all my life, riding and carriage driving for many years.
My first experience with the Welsh Breed was when I bred a part-Welsh pony who competed under saddle and harness. Ever since then, I’ve had an interest in riding, training, and breeding stunning Welsh Ponies (particular Section B ponies), and have imported two Welsh Ponies (Section B's) from the UK to Australia.”
